Last Thursday I had the pleasure of participating in the conference held in Birmingham, which was arranged by The Information Law Practice and Harrison Clark Rickerbys. The event was attended by delegates from both state and independent schools and clearly demonstrated that all schools and academies need to be preparing for GDPR now, and not seeing it as something that can be started much further down the line.
I was fascinated to listen to Andy Barnes, the Director of Technology at Bryanston School, who gave us an insight into the the GDPR issues faced by a school with pupils who live in, and where the school processes university applications. It brought up issues I hadn't even considered before and ably demonstrated Andy's own analytical skills in moving his school forward towards GDPR compliance.
I have already been contacted by a number of delegates who are interested in using my subscription services and am happy to discuss any further potential work with others who attended or who have been alerted to my services by delegates who did attend.
